About us · Hamilton depot
A Brisbane logistics company
with the family name on the trucks
Betzi Logistics is a family-run Brisbane logistics company working out of 442 Kingsford Smith Drive, Hamilton. Thirty-eight trucks and vans, a warehouse by the river, and dispatchers who pick up the phone before the third ring.
One ute in 2014,
thirty-eight trucks today, same name on the door.
Ask Darren what we do and he'll point at the yard rather than reach for a brochure. We cart freight around Queensland and down the eastern seaboard, store it under our roof when you need one, and chase it when it runs late.
We're a Brisbane logistics company by choice. The Port of Brisbane is eight minutes down the road, the Gateway Bridge is around the corner, and half our clients are close enough to swing by and eyeball their own pallets. Freight runs on trust, and trust is easier when the people holding your goods share your postcode.
The business is registered as Betzi Logistics Pty Ltd — Darren Betz is the owner and director, his wife Sharon runs dispatch, and between the drivers, the warehouse crew and a very patient bookkeeper there are sixteen of us. Big enough to run nightly linehaul, small enough that regulars still get greeted by name at the gate.

Small fleet manners, proper fleet numbers
Being a mid-size Brisbane logistics company suits us fine. Big enough that a truck is always going your way, small enough that Darren knows which one.
"On time" means inside the booked window. If we say Thursday 7–9am and the truck lands at 9:15, that counts against us in the log — and you'd already have heard about it by 8:00.
Eleven years, told in trucks
Freight companies grow in stages: a vehicle, a lease, a lane. Ours went like this.
Where it started, 2014
On paper
Betzi Logistics Pty Ltd · ABN 74 632 518 209 · Director: Darren Betz · Registered in Queensland.
Darren backs himself
Quits driving for someone else, buys a secondhand HiLux and starts courier runs — seafood cartons from the wharves at Pinkenba to restaurants across the northside.
A 4.5-tonne Isuzu joins the shed
Sharon swaps part-time bookwork for a proper dispatch desk, and the first non-family driver signs on. He retired in 2022 and still drops by on Fridays.
A real depot in Hamilton
We sign the lease at 442 Kingsford Smith Dr and bolt in the first racking. Eight minutes from the port — suddenly container work and storage are on the table.
Brisbane–Sydney, scheduled
First nightly linehaul departs. Border chaos that year teaches us contingency planning the hard way: spare drivers, spare trailers, spare patience.
1,400 m² under our roof
The Hamilton extension opens. Pick-pack and container unpacks stop being favours we do for mates and become a proper service with its own crew.
Same habits, bigger yard
Nightly interstate runs, daily metro routes, stock stored for 40-odd businesses — and a phone that still gets answered by a human.
Three rules we haven't broken yet
Every freight company claims this stuff. We wrote ours on the lunchroom wall in 2018 — spelling mistakes included — and it's still up there.
Tell it straight
Freight running late? You hear it from us first, with a real new ETA attached. A different carrier would suit the job better? We say that too. An honest "it's delayed" at 3pm beats a sorry excuse at 5.
The window is the window
Manifest says 6:30, the truck's there at 6:30. Our drivers treat delivery windows the way pilots treat checklists — it helps that half of them have been here since the early days.
Quote it once
The number we quote is the number on the invoice. Fuel levy, tolls, tail-lift — folded into the price up front, so your accounts person never has to decode us.
And the flip side — what we don't do:
- Hand your freight to a random subbie with a truck
- Add "admin" or "handling" fees that weren't in the quote
- Let a trailer leave the yard without a strap-and-tarp check
- Miss a window quietly and hope you didn't notice
If your delivery matters to you, it matters to me — that's pretty much the whole business plan.
The people your freight actually deals with
Sixteen of us under the one roof in Hamilton. These are the five you're most likely to get on the phone.

Darren Betz
Owner & director
Founded the company in 2014 and still holds an MC licence. Jumps behind the wheel when a driver's crook — his last relief run was a Melbourne changeover in June.

Sharon Betz
Dispatch manager
Married into freight and ended up running the board. Knows most clients' order patterns by heart and can quote the Chermside run from memory.

Mick Townsend
Fleet lead
Ex-army mechanic, twenty years around engines. Won't sign a truck out of the yard on a "she'll be right" — ask any driver who's tried to leave on one.

Priya Nair
Warehouse manager
Runs the racking, the pick-pack crew and the fortnightly container unpacks. Keeps the stock log accurate to the carton — auditors love her, forklift drivers tread carefully.

Tom Okafor
Senior driver, interstate
Does the Tuesday Melbourne changeover and knows the Pacific Highway by moonlight. The crew at his Coffs Harbour servo have his coffee ready at 4am.
Possibly you
We're often after an MR driver or a switched-on storehand. Ask Sharon at the depot gate, or send your details through the contact page.
Say helloFour jobs that explain us better than a brochure
Dock 1, every second Thursday
A food importer's standing fortnight
A pantry-goods importer lands a 40ft container at the Port of Brisbane every second week. We pull it to Hamilton, unpack it into the racks and break it into metro orders — picked, wrapped and delivered inside 26 hours. They've held the same slot with us since 2019.
Staged in aisle 2
Six store refits, one northbound plan
A homewares chain refitted six regional stores. We sequenced each store's flat-packs in install order and ran them north over five weeks — every site got its freight the day before the fitters did.
November panic, handled
Green mangoes, Bowen to Melbourne
A Bowen grower needed fruit to land in Melbourne still firm — green enough to ripen on the shelf across the following week. For eleven weeks we ran sixty-odd pallets south every week through the wet-season humidity.
Daily pallets out
A Yatala beverage maker's east coast shelf space
Instead of leasing their own warehouse, a Yatala drinks maker parks stock in our racks. We send daily pallets to bottle shops from Tweed Heads to Sydney and take the returns back in. Their missed delivery windows last quarter: zero.
The first thing Betzi told me was that a delivery I wanted on Friday couldn't make Friday. I argued. They were right — it would've missed. Nobody here's promised me a fairy-tale ETA since.
What that looks like weekly
- Honest windows — even when the honest answer is "can't make it"
- One contact who knows his account and his freight
- PODs in his inbox the same afternoon
What people ask before they trust us
