How we handle
your information
What Betzi Logistics collects when you ship with us or browse the site, why we need it, and what we never do with it — written by the people who actually keep the records.
The short version first
We collect the information needed to move your freight: your name, contact details, pickup and delivery addresses, and whatever you tell us about the job. That's the core of it.
This policy follows the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. It explains what we collect, where it's stored, who sees it, and how to get a copy or a correction.
If you're in the EU and our GDPR obligations apply to you, the rights spelled out on our legal page are available to you too — same mailbox, same people.
The plain-English version
We don't sell data, we don't buy data, and we don't run ads that follow you around the internet. The most interesting thing your data does here is get your freight delivered. Anything in here unclear — email betzilogistics@gmail.com and we'll answer properly.
What we collect
- Booking details — name, business name, phone, email, pickup and delivery addresses, freight descriptions and access notes.
- Account & billing — ABN, billing address, payment references. Card details go through the payment provider; we never store full card numbers.
- Delivery records — signatures, POD timestamps, delivery photos where requested.
- Site usage — basic analytics: which pages get read, rough device type. No advertising trackers.
- Correspondence — emails, call notes and quote history so dispatch has context next time you book.
What we use it for
Pretty much one thing: moving your freight and proving we did it. That covers quoting, booking, collecting, delivering, invoicing and chasing the occasional claim.
Operationally that means your pickup contact sees the driver's ETA, the receiver gets a call-ahead, and your invoice lands at the right email. If you've subscribed to the dispatch newsletter, you get one email a month — unsubscribe any time and it actually stops.
We also keep records for tax, insurance and dispute purposes, because the ATO and our insurer both have opinions about that.
Who sees it
Inside the company: dispatch, drivers and accounts — the people doing the job. Outside the company, only where the job requires it:
- Partner carriers on freight-management jobs — they get the consignment details they need, nothing else.
- Service providers — our invoicing, email and hosting providers, under confidentiality terms.
- Regulators or insurers where the law or a claim genuinely requires it.
That's the list. No data brokers, no marketing lists, no "trusted partners" doing anything unrelated to your freight.
Access, correction, complaints
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Email betzilogistics@gmail.com — the same inbox as everything else, answered by a person.
We keep consignment records for the period tax and insurance law requires, then they go. If you think we've mishandled your information, tell us first — but you can also take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
